Steve Hughes and his lovely producer wife, Jane and I have become good friends since he directed me in an episode of DOCTORS .
He cast me in a short film he wrote with Roland Moore and we shot it yesterday at Shepperton Studios. So great to be at a studio with so much UK film history. Bridget Jones Diary, Shakespeare In Love, Bend It Like Beckham to name a few....
VISITING HOURS is the story of a wife (me!) who visits her husband (Danny Webb) in hospital after a terrible car crash. You will recognise Danny from the many films and loads of television series he has been in, but I remember him best from a Royal Court production of SERIOUS MONEY by Carol Churchill in 1987. It was his performance as a wily ‘barrow boy’ that stood out and I consider it a real treat to have worked with him.
Steve will start editing in a week or so, so I will let you know when it starts screening at festivals and will post it here on my site as soon as I get a copy!
