It’s been a while since I blogged but I’ve been enjoying the summer and not really seeing or doing much to write about. This time of year is notoriously slow for auditions so I have resigned myself to a lazy August!!

On Saturday I’m seeing my old friend Jude Law in Hamlet so will blog about that. Do I really need three hours of Hamlet in July? I know how it ends so....

HOWEVER!

Last night was the first airing of my episode of NEW TRICKS! yey! You can watch it here on iPlayer.

The episode is called The Truth Is Out There, written by the director, Julian Simpson . It follows the crusty gumshoes as they investigate a ‘suicide’ of a man who may have known too much about a plane crash. Was it a USAF exercise? Was it a plane carrying prisoners bound for Guantanamo Bay or was it a UFO? YOU decide!!

I play an American woman (Melissa) who goes on a date with Gerry (Denis Waterman).  Gerry’s flattered by her attention but Melissa asks a lot of questions and he has her arrested!! Is she an informant for the United States Government? Watch the episode to find out!! People have been asking and I only got to eat one piece of sushi after filming! Darn it!! It’s my favourite food and had so been looking forward to that scene!! Ha ha!!

HERE’S A BIT OF TRIVIA: Once upon a time I was married to a pilot in the USAF (this is a true story BTW!) we met when he was stationed in Suffolk at RAF Woodbridge. We heard several stories about a strange aircraft sighting that happened to a USAF Colonel in 1980 in Rendelsham Forest.   In my audition I mentioned the similarities of the story Julian had written and the stories we used to hear in the pub in Suffolk, when the good old boys started talking about the UFO sighting near the airforce base that was hushed up and all that!! Julian confessed it was an inspiration for his episode. I think he did very well to update the scenario and incorporate a possible terrorist element.

I start rehearsals next week for a short play of Dean’s that I’m doing at THE CAMDEN FRINGE FESTIVAL we open on August 3rd and the perfs are at 10.30 (dear me!) every night til the 7th. I will post revues when we get them.
